23 Nov 2009. Christmas decorations are already out ....and Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away.  Many investors are anxiously  awaiting the results of the Thanks Giving Shopping Spree.   Spirited Buying may point to a first quarter with higher business confidence.

Boom or Bust,  Pessimism or Optimism... 2010 is arriving. ..with its own store of opportunities and threats.

Throughout 2009, I have use the Christian calendar to guide and uplift me.  Many friends, including Muslims, Hindus, Buddhist and Atheist  have joined me and found this meaningful and rewarding.  It gave us  a fresh perspective on timing and scheduling. and one that incorporates not just practical , daily and business needs but those of our spiritual being.

Thanksgiving is not a Christian event,  but being at the end the  Liturgical year it seems an appropriate occasion to celebrate our year's efforts and achievements....and to start planning for the new year. And as we approach Christmas, celebrating  the birth of Jesus Christ, let it also be able to celebrate the the birth to our PLAN for the next year.

The PLAN like Christ Life on earth will be filled with trials and tribulations ...as we find new customers, test out new ideas and  strategies.  Other Christian Dates at which we will also review our personal plans are:

1.  Feb 17 - Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. All Plans ready for implementation

2.  Mar 28 - Palm Sunday, We celebrate our early efforts and successful launches

3. April 2  - Good Friday. As we share the passion of Christ, we also examine our own failings, those of our team and  adjust our plans.

4. April 4 - We reaffirm and celebrate our beliefs and our new plans...and go about making the adjustments

5. May 23- Pentecost day. ...We are fully charged up, just as the Disciplines received the Holy spirit and were able to speak in tongues.   And its full steam ahead till the end of the Liturgical year and we celebrate our efforts at Thanksgiving in late November 2010.

Asian Direct Marketing 4Q Update.  It is already the end of November..but no clear signs are emerging....and the last quarter seems to have become a dishwashing activity.... you clean the plates: it looks nice and shiny for a while and then get sullied once again.

There is a general consensus that the economy is recovering but post recession scenarios are still murky like the dishwater.  As we suggested in our last quarter update, the bull run has come to an end with neither new bulls or bears rearing their heads.  Gold is the obvious darling for this quarter but investors are still holding their breathe and in ainxiety as to when the big boys and central banks will cash in for profits.

Google Wave...google's new integrated digital communication platform is trending fairly high on Twitter, but Twitter itself is fading. The jury is still out on Chrome, that has since gone out of beta.

Old ways of doing things must give way to new. Here is a prediction about industries that may not exist after the next decade.  Most of them are already in straight declines.

Breakthroughs are habit changing, lifestyle changing. New technologies, utilities, widgets are created constantly and brought to market.  Most of them may not be new to the world ideas but many promise to bring about life impacting improvements.  Some like the Iphone; blogging; social networks like facebook, myspace and whole array of Web2  apparatus... the technoratis, de.lic.ious, Diggs have created "breakthrough" waves.  Whether these waves would change people's (at least in some niches)

On 29th July 2009, Microsoft and Yahoo unveiled a long-term partnership that will unite them against Google, the clear leader in Web search and online advertising.

Recession or not, Google and Microsofts are at it again. Microsofts effort to challenge Google search with Bing, and Google's aim to secure a huge share of the netbook market with Chrome OS,

And of course not forgetting Google Wave that provide a new integrated communication and collaboration tool that will replace traditional emails.

Electric Vehicles and cars that has already become a reality will probably propel the next big marketing and advertising boom. 

According to our surveys done in major Asian cities, forward looking marketing and ad agencies are already devoting significant effort to research this new potential area of growth.

Full and comprehensive Electric Cars and vehicles bring the promise of a better green and clean environment.  It removes the fear of a world without energy.  It will also create an entirely new industry, giving hopes to business that will jump to take the challenge.

Instat project Market for Embedded Pico projector Modules in Cellphones, Netbooks and Consumer Devices to Exceed $1 Billion.  It is a totally new market.   Samsung W7900 is the First Brand Name, Non-Prototype Projector Phone but can so far only be used in Korea Only.

Mini and Micro- handheld projectors many of which may be projected off mobile phones is less of a new product, but the latest ranges feature High Definition with real cool sound and images.
